Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist Profession: RRT Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12H All Variable Shifts Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Oregon License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP Must-Have: Experience with bubble CPAP, ABG, and vent/BiPAP/CPAP management Description: RRT license is required. The department includes a variety of treatments based on patient needs. Both RRT and CRT are acceptable as long as requirements are met. The patient demographic includes all ages. The facility delivers 35 babies per month. Coverage areas include inpatient, outpatient, ER, rehab, and sleep lab. Major department needs are in the ER, MS, CCU, and the facility does not frequently service SDS. Experience with bubble CPAP, ABG, and ventilation management is essential. Common job duties include administering ventilation, BiPAP, CPAP, bubble CPAP on newborns, breathing treatments, EKGs, and ABGs. Respiratory therapists are required to assist with intubation but do not intubate independently. This is a critical access facility with five RTs on staff and is currently short-staffed. Most shifts are worked alone, covering for scheduling gaps. Variable weekend and holiday availability is required. There is no call or standby call requirement. Floating requirements do not apply. Dress code is royal blue scrubs. The equipment used includes Draeger for vents, V60 for BiPAP, ResMed for CPAP, and Vapotherm for high flow. A hospitalist is on site with an average of 1-2 vent days per month, which has recently increased to 5-7 vent days monthly. Department-specific orientation may require 3-6 shifts. Ability to move quickly is essential due to the nature of the role. Teamwork and prioritization of tasks are crucial, as is the ability to work independently. Responsibility includes daily shift checks and documentation of all procedures performed. The hospital reserves the right to cancel shifts as needed. Charting system utilized is MEDITECH - 5.66. A BSN is not required. License to submit is necessary. The trauma level is acute care. The work setting is in an acute care environment.
