weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an
experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a
high-volume Level III trauma center, requiring a minimum of 3 years
of ED experience and multiple certifications including TNCC and
PALS or ENPC. Details - Work in a 34-bed Emergency Department at a
226-bed Level III non-profit community hospital - Busiest ED in the
state, seeing 200–250 patients per day - ED is organized into
zones, including a 13-bed fast track 'green zone' - Patient
population spans neonate to geriatric, including pediatric medical
and trauma cases, stroke (TNK administration), cardiac (cath lab),
behavioral health, and substance use disorder - Stabilization and
transfer responsibilities for neurosurgery, multi-system trauma,
and high-acuity pediatric patients - Patient ratios of 1:3–5 based
on acuity - 12-hour night shifts (7p–7a); mid and evening shift
start times also available - Every other weekend rotation required;
back-to-back weekends possible on rare occasions - No floating or
on-call requirements - Epic EMR — experience strongly preferred
Requirements - Active WA RN license or compact RN license required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a large-volume, high-acuity ED -
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC -
Proficiency with barcode scanning medication administration and
medication drip management - Experience with blood product
administration and triage (must pass hospital's Triage Test prior
to triaging independently) - Ability to set up chest tubes and
arterial lines, assist with trauma and code cases, perform
splinting, and manage BiPAP/ventilators - Strong understanding of
ESI (Emergency Severity Index) - Two professional references from a
supervisor or above (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or
equivalent) required prior to start; one reference acceptable at
time of consideration - First-time travelers will not be considered
for this position Additional Information - Pediatric emergency
medicine experience is highly preferred - Experience with Point of
Care Labs is a plus - Candidates must complete SimpliFi clinical
interviewing and unit review as part of the hiring process - Scrub
