Therapist Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Must have own car
for patient care provided in homes. Description: The Occupational
Therapist is an integral member of the interdisciplinary team. They
develop, administer, and implement therapeutic services designed to
help patients regain their optimal level of function. Focus areas
include meaningful daily activities such as self-care, leisure, and
work. The Occupational Therapist will work under the supervision of
the Home Health and Hospice Manager. Essential job functions
include evaluating patients' functional status. They interpret and
implement the physician's plan of care. The role involves
completing assessments and making decisions based on objective
tests and measurements. Communication of observations, facts, and
treatment suggestions is essential as an interdisciplinary team
member. Education and direction will be provided to patients and
coworkers as appropriate. The Occupational Therapist must work
independently and cooperatively. They are required to recognize and
protect patient rights. Conveying empathy and compassion to
patients experiencing grief, pain, or trauma is crucial. Accurate
and concise documentation of all communications and treatment
activities is required. Adaptation to emergency situations and
alertness to changes in the patient's condition are important. The
employee is expected to support the organization's mission, vision,
and values. Participation in required education for applicable
programs is expected. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
