Job Title: OR RN Circulator Educator Profession: Nursing Specialty: Clinical Education Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 5 years hospital nursing experience. 3 years of OR experience required. License: Current RN license in Oregon Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: Requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in nursing. Experience teaching others and developing courses, including direct teaching and evaluating the learning process. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel). Description: This position reports to the Clinical Education Department Manager. The Clinical Staff Educator provides education and instruction for clinical staff. This position acts as a resource regarding healthcare education and training programs. The Clinical Staff Educator introduces technical and theoretical concepts in teaching techniques to staff and others as needed. This position supports the development of education with department managers and clinical nurse coordinators. The Clinical Staff Educator is proficient in the use of simulation training using mannequins and simulation software. This position works closely with other members of the Quality Management team to promote continuous improvement. The Clinical Staff Educator helps identify educational opportunities across the system. Assists with Quality Department activities as requested. Performs a variety of duties often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Accepts responsibility for the direction, control, and planning of activities. Makes evaluations and decisions based on measurable or certifiable criteria. Works independently and completes assignments as scheduled or communicates barriers to timely completion. Must be able to prioritize job duties throughout the day. Evaluates programs and participant learning and makes appropriate changes as needed. Recognizes and handles patient confidentiality appropriately. Relates to others in a manner that creates teamwork and cooperation. Communicates effectively in daily activities. Conveys empathy and compassion in conversation. Self-motivated, dependable, neatly groomed, personable, and well-organized. Supports the hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures. Participates in required education for applicable programs. Performs other related duties as assigned. Understanding of basic functions of a computer network is helpful. Excellent telephone etiquette, communication, and customer service skills are required. Type a minimum speed of 45 WPM accurately. Excellent skills in English, punctuation, spelling, grammar, and proofreading. Knowledge of electronic health record systems is helpful. Ability to provide care for the patients' age-specific, cultural, physical, and psychosocial well-being.
