Job Description:
SUMMARY:The Personal Financial Services Representative I reports
to the Branch Manager. This role assists members in opening new
accounts, explaining the benefits of the credit union's products
and services, initiates purchase and/or participation in savings
and loan products, accepts loan applications (non-mortgage),
performs account maintenance and performs Member Service
transactions as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned
by Supervisor.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Assist members with
opening, closing, and servicing existing accounts. Answer questions
about products and services, and resolve problems that are within
authority to resolve. Problems encountered which are beyond
authority shall be referred to the supervisor with
recommendations.* Assist members with loans and consumer products.*
Perform Member Service functions as needed while following credit
union policy, procedures and guidelines. * Confirm new member
identification and financial history meets standards required by
the credit union prior to granting account and service access.*
Manage areas of responsibility in a safe and sound manner at all
times.* Complete all daily tasks in a prompt and efficient manner.*
Report for work on time, as scheduled by the supervisor. Regular
attendance is an essential/significant function of this
position.Maintain and protect all sensitive data utilizing the
highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism.
Consistently display respect for all areas of diversity and levels
of knowledge.* Understand and perform Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
functions as applicable to job responsibilities.* Attend credit
union training sessions, conferences, or seminars as approved by
supervisor. Maintain awareness of policies and regulations related
to duties and responsibilities.* Keep supervisor advised of status
of all major projects as well as concerns.* Build positive
relationships with members, assess member requirements, and
recommend financial solutions.* Responsible for proactive sales
initiatives. Identify follow-up activities in accordance with
established procedures and quality standards.* Display mutual
respect, trust and dignity, acting in the best interest of the
credit union. Lead by example by displaying solid ethics and
integrity at all times. Control risk and manage operations in a
safe and sound manner.SKILLS/ABILITIES:* Provide accurate, prompt,
courteous, friendly, timely and professional service to all
members.* Ability to build positive relationships with members.
Assess member requirements and recommend financial solutions.*
Ability to maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of
all credit union products, services, policies and procedures.*
Ability to participate in and support a team environment.* Ability
to report for work on time and maintain a schedule of regular
attendance.* Display respect for diversity. Treat people with
respect, keep commitments, and maintain a high level of integrity.*
Effectively communicate ideas and information.* Ability to maintain
accuracy and confidentiality.* Possess and display excellent
customer service attributes.* Possess the ability to understand,
open and discuss Trust Accounts and IRAs.* Possess the ability to
assist members with deceased-owner accounts and other complicated
accounts and perform proper distributionsJOB REQUIREMENTS:1. High
school diploma, two year degree preferred.2. One to three years
similar or related experience.3. Basic knowledge of finance
preferred.4. Demonstrated sales skills and ability to cross sell.5.
Experience with standard office equipment, MS Office and Outlook
software, and Member Service Associate programs.6. Demonstrated and
sustained interpersonal skills to relate effectively and
professionally to members, the public, and colleagues.7. Some
travel may be required to fulfill duties, career development,
and/or responsibilities.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Per the Dictionary of
Occupational Titles, this is considered light to medium capacity
position.* Ability to alternate between sitting, standing and
walking.* Sitting occurs frequently (31-71%).* Occasional walking
(11-30%).* Seldom standing (1-10%). * Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
on a frequent basis.* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a seldom
basis. * Frequent repetitive hand and wrist motions. * Work
