IT Support Technician 2 (Non-Permanent)

Columbia Basin College ("CBC" or the "College") seeks a
Non-Permanent IT Support Technician 2 to perform technical support
tasks related to the transition from remote COVID operations to
full in-person operations. Under general supervision, the IT
Support Technician 2 performs technical in-person support tasks for
all CBC faculty and staff. This position requires occasional travel
between CBC campus locations. The position is responsible for
installing and supporting hardware and software for staff, faculty
and computer labs. This position reports to the Assistant Director
for IT Customer Success.
This position is open until filled. First consideration will be

Set up or reassemble personal computers, including, connecting
keyboard, mouse, and monitor for staff, faculty and computer labs;
check for proper operation and install software using predefined
procedures; Perform basic hardware fixes such as rebooting
computers, checking for connection to outlets, replacing printer
cartridges and other related duties; keep basic software up-to-date
(i.e., Windows updates, virus definitions, etc.); Make preliminary
identification of problems encountered by users and resolve
standard issues; refer more difficult problems to higher-level
technicians; Assist faculty with information technology teaching
aids, materials, and equipment associated with classroom
instruction; Document troubleshooting steps and resolution for all
assigned incidents in IT ticket tracking software; Communicate with
customers about tickets and schedule appointments to ensure timely
resolution of tickets; and Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent; Two (2) years of experience
in an IT helpdesk capacity performing desktop and classroom
technology support; Have and able to maintain a valid US driver's
license and clean driving history.
