Therapists at Comprehensive utilize evidence-based practices to provide clients and their families with support in learning new skills and connecting to community resources. Counseling and skill development may be provided through individual or group sessions, depending on need. Therapist positions require excellent listening and communication skills, as well as a desire to collaborate to assist each client with reaching his or her recovery goals. Clinical supervision and training in evidence-based practices are provided as part of this position. For this particular role, Therapists will be part of our Multisystemic Therapy (MST) team, an intensive, family-focused, community-based treatment program for juveniles with serious criminal offenses and who are abusing substances. Through intense involvement with the family, MST aims to uncover and assess the functional origins of adolescent behavioral problems. Working with families in their homes and out in the community, the Therapist empowers caregivers with the skills & support systems to independently address the challenges the youth is experiencing with family, peers, school, and community that resulted in delinquent behavior. The schedule for this position must be flexible to meet the needs of clients and their families, including being available on evenings and weekends. Participation in the rotation for on-call coverage is also required and includes additional compensation. Therapist duties may include:

  • collaborating with each client to create an individualized treatment plan
  • providing individual & family therapy and facilitating skill-building sessions
  • working closely with each client to develop intervention strategies that empower families to address concerns effectively
  • providing routine services & crisis coverage outside of regular business hours
  • assessing clients for safety and risk to self or others, and taking appropriate crisis intervention measures when indicated
  • thorough and timely completion of required clinical documentation Qualifications:
