Job Description:

Scope:The VP is the company’s highest-ranking marketing and business development leader, reports to the company’s CEO and is a member of the company’s Corporate Leadership Team. The VP is primarily responsible for leading the company’s marketing, business development, sales development and other corporate development related activities. In collaboration with other members of the company’s Corporate Leadership Team, the VP shares responsibility for driving the company’s profitable growth. Key Responsibilities: MarketingHelp the firm better understand its position within the marketplace and how it can truly differentiate itself from its competition.Identify which target customer segments the company will focus on and develop marketing plans that support robust organic growth.Oversee the process of bringing new products and services to market.Develop marketing materials for promotions, brand awareness, new market acquisitions, opening of new operational warehouses and all other needs identified through the business planning process.Manage third party marketing vendors, consultants and all other marketing suppliers.Corporate BrandingCreate successful communications that capture the individual benefits of each sales channel, which combined together, build a clear and compelling story of the overall value created by the organization.Increase the perceived value of the organization’s core products and services, while building customer loyalty and brand awareness.Ensure alignment between the company’s internal and external brands, so that customers and team members share the same positive company experience.Oversee the company’s customer facing websites, portals and mobile applications.Own branding of all clothing, accessories and other sales-used branded items. Public RelationsManage the spread of information between the organization and the public.Establish and maintain relationships with the organization’s target customer segments, media, and other opinion leaders. Generate "looks" and "awareness" through outreach and coordination with the appropriate media. Manage the design of communications campaigns, writing of news releases, and working with the press.Act as the organization’s spokesperson. In addition to the above marketing focused responsibilities, the VP will be responsible for leading the following Corporate Development related activities: Business DevelopmentPlay a leadership role in identifying, evaluating and executing both organic and inorganic opportunities across Christensen’s businesses and take the lead in feasibility analysis for new products, services, sales channels and market expansion.Responsible for identifying and analyzing market needs, market size and competition.Utilize information gained through rigorous market research activities to develop winning corporate growth strategies.Sales Development Work collaboratively with business group leadership to develop and execute the company’s sales strategies and sales management processes. Oversee the process of identifying, connecting with and qualifying sales leads. Work collaboratively with other members of the company’s corporate leadership team, to design and implement strategies aimed at creating a high level of customer satisfaction and retention. Ensure that the company’s marketing plan(s) are designed to maximize the effectiveness of the salesforce.Budgeting & ReportingWork collaboratively with business group leadership to complete robust business plans. (The VP is primarily responsible for developing business group marketing plans that include specific marketing objectives, marketing strategies and sales strategies.)Work collaboratively with business group leadership to develop sales plans, demand forecasting and specific details on how the business group marketing objectives will be achieved through the actual sale of products and services.In collaboration with business group leadership, develop marketing plans, calendars and budgets which support each group’s unique customer value propositions.Collaborate with sales leadership and knowledge and information resources in developing standard reporting packages that provide visibility into the performance of the company’s sales and marketing related activities.Supplier RelationshipsServe as a key liaison with key supply partners and their marketing personnel.Coordinate with business group leadership to ensure the effective communication and execution of supplier marketing programs and promotions.Provide corporate leadership with visibility into the organization’s performance on key supplier programs.Ensure the effective management of supplier marketing funds including the communication of targets and obstacles, the identification of opportunities, and regular reporting of use of funds and budgets.Leadership and Team Reach: Understand and live our core values.Work well with team members from all areas of the organization.Build strong relationships internally, helping to facilitate cross departmental communication and project collaborations.Key Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree is required; MBA is an advantageA minimum of 10 years of related business experience in marketing and corporate/business developmentideal candidate will likely be a senior level Marketing/Corporate/Business Development executive in a major organization. The candidate’s team will be small and the executive in this role will need hands-on experience in development marketing/branding plans, performing market analyses, prospecting opportunities, and developing sales plans. This individual will also possess a strong financial background and will be able to demonstrate a strong balance between being highly strategic and displaying a deep understanding of the financial implications of growth plans.
