Staff Accountant/Production Clerk Seneca Foods in Dayton, WA is currently seeking a Staff Accountant/Production Clerk to join our team.

Help us make our Farm Fresh Goodness Great!This position is responsible for collecting, communicating, and verifying data for financial and production processes that work under the supervision of the Plant Controller and/or The Plant Superintendent. The candidate must work well in a team atmosphere, as well as independently, be a quick learner, dependable, and a self-starter. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist in Preparation of Budgets and Journal Entries for Month, Quarter, and Year-End close.
Receive incoming purchased inventory into system (GEM).
Assist in managing accounts payables/receivables.
Assist with inventory management such as weekly cycle counts, chemical inventory and annual physical inventory.
Maintain records of seed stock usage/returns to growers.
Work in Bayer database (SAP) to create, Packlists, BOL Documents.
STO/Order management.
Set up loads, request rate quotes, and arrange carriers; manage dock scheduling for in bound trucks.
Place car orders and releases with Union Pacific for rail cars.
Create shipping documents in GEM and verify all scanning out of product is complete.
Assist in truck scale operations during receiving.
Provide support to Controller.
Provide support and backup for accounts payable.
Provide support and backup to purchasing agent.
Qualifications:
Associates degree in accounting.
Excellent computer skills including demonstrated ability to manage large data sets.
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Prior experience in computerized inventory or ERP systems.
Familiar with SOX auditing requirements and GAAP
Willingness and ability to work and function in a team environment
Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally
Ability to work with all levels of the organization
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
